Interview Do's and Don'ts
- Ensure adequate preparation prior to the interview. Look at the company's website and prepare for the interview ensuring familiarity with the job you are applying for and the necessary skills required.
- Ensure you are properly dressed for the interview . Most interviews require formal attire.
- Do NOT be late for the interview. Arrive at 5 to 10 minutes before.
- Shake hands firmly with the interviewer and look him in the eye.
- Give your business card to the interviewer
- Ensure your mobile phone is switched off before entering into the interview
- Be confident but not overly so.
- Ensure you do not answer questions with just yes and no answers. Expand on your answers. Be prepared to explain your achievements to date.
- Do not make negative comments about your present or former employer if asked why you want to leave the company.
- Remember to ask questions about the potential employer and the position
- Do not ask about salary and benefits in the first interview
